2003 to current - Program Director and Instructor for with Outdoor Therapy Institute (OTI).

Develop program curriculum and course materials for continuing education training for mental health professional interested in developing and expanding their practice in adventure, wilderness and outdoor therapy interventions. OTI is a program sponsored by Mentor Research Institute (MRI).

1999 to Current - Clinical Director and Psychologist for Bend Psychological Services and Education Options.

Provides counseling, psychotherapy, evaluation and crisis intervention services for adults, families and youth. Provides referral information and recommendations to parents for therapeutic boarding schools, inpatient, residential and outdoor behavioral health programs for youth.

Triage, crisis and emergency room intervention involving unstable psychiatric conditions, dangerousness, traumatic events and severe stress reactions in adults, adolescent and children. Consultation to mental health, physicians, and nursing. Supervision during new staff probation. Services to children, adult and geriatric populations. Patient evaluations; mental status; medication screenings for ASEs and recommendations for psychotropic medication trials. Recommendations and coordinating medical hospitalizations including voluntary and involuntary psychiatric hospitalizations in Oregon and Washington. Evaluation and referral for inpatient drug and alcohol treatment. Provided case consultation services for employers, school counselors, as well as area medical and mental health professionals. Clinical and medical psychology. Consultation and intervention privileges at Bess Kaiser and Sunnyside medical hospitals. Psychiatric screening and evaluations, differential diagnosis of functional and organic disorders, drug and alcohol abuse, suicide and violence risk, treatment planning and recommendations. Admission, transfer and discharge planning.

1993 to1995 - Crisis Intervention Response Team (C.I.R.T.). Kaiser Permanente.

Traumatic incident and stress debriefing within Kaiser Permanente and to membership. Co-author of innovation grant proposal that was funded to develop C.I.R.T. Contributor to crisis debriefing handouts and intervention protocols.

1994 to1995 - Clinical Psychology Fellowship. Graduate Medical Education. Primary Medical Care. Kaiser Permanente.

Provided mental health services and consultation in a primary medical care settings. Examined collaborative service delivery models for treatment of mental disorders in primary medical care settings. Developed a computer based medical and mental health assessment, treatment, referral and medication recommendation system for primary medical care. Provided triage screening, intake evaluations, psychological and psychosomatic assessments, neuropsychological screenings, treatment planning, crisis services and therapy with a broad range of patients including children, adolescents and adults, as well as multicultural populations. Provided consultation service to primary care medical physicians and nurse case managers. Provided group therapy for depression and anxiety. Supervision of nurse case managers and interns working with patients having co-morbid psychological disorders and medical illness.

Telephone crisis counseling and intervention for quadrant community mental health centers. Supervised 5 volunteers, 2 employees, 10 employee assistance lines and 3 private clinic after hours phone lines. Provided triage and referral to emergency housing, shelters, psychiatric and medical emergencies for 3 counties in Oregon. Phone tracing and coordination with emergency 911 for suicide, dangerousness and hostage incidents.

State Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP). Supervision of five treatment coordinators. Provided inpatient intake evaluations, medical status screening, treatment planning, monitoring medications for associated side effects, group and individual therapy, and discharge planning.
